LIS'N TELL
Lis’n Tell as developed by speech and language therapist Louise Coigley is a live and inclusive story telling method, which seeks to ‘promote curiosity, encourage wonder, facilitate joy and invite responsibility – leading to spontaneous intentional participation’. The key component of Lis’n Tell is to include participants’ ideas, both verbally and non-verbally, to lead the direction of a story.
WHAT HAPPENS IN SESSIONS?
LIs'n Tell sessions include iconic gesture, rhyme, rhythm and role, repetition, and chanting. A variety of props are also used to facilitate group engagement. The method aims to encourage spontaneous communication, nurture creativity, and build confidence in group interaction, whilst incorporating therapeutic and educational goals. Lis’n Tell is a person-centred approach and is accessible to a wide range of participants, including children with PMLD and sensory processing difficulties.
